OKX secures strategic backing at $25B valuation

OKX has raised fresh funding at a $25 billion valuation, with Circle, Ripple, and Standard Chartered’s SC Ventures joining the round. The company hasn’t disclosed the amount raised in the latest funding round, according to a Bloomberg report. OKX says the funds will help strengthen its market infrastructure and support its long-term growth plans.

As noted by OKX Global Partner Haider Rafique, the funding is focused on building the company’s infrastructure for the long term. For CEO Star Xu, the move is a strategic move rather than a fundraising effort for a capital emergency. His words read,

“Our vision is very simple: hold it, pay with it, invest it, and grow it. We want to build the financial technology platform for the next generation, one that combines crypto technology with the standards people expect from global financial institutions. That is the foundation for this round. It gives us the capital to keep growing and to tokenize real-world assets, and Circle, QRT, Ripple and Standard Chartered are investing alongside us.”

Strengthening ties with existing partners

It is worth noting that OKX is bringing in companies that are already connected with its business. For context, Circle’s USDC stablecoin is integrated into OKX. Ripple’s RLUSD is also supported on OKX’s unified order book. Standard Chartered provided support for BlackRock’s BUIDL, which is used as off-exchange collateral by eligible institutional clients. Quantitative investment firm Qube Research & Technologies (QRT) is a new investor in the latest round.

Notably, the latest move comes on the heels of a previous round closed in March 2026. Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, has invested around $200 million in OKX during the previous funding round. In the latest round, London-based quantitative investment firm Qube Research & Technologies (QRT) is a new investor.

Significantly, OKX’s new funding builds on its relationship with Intercontinental Exchange. Both companies are now working together via a joint venture called OKX ICE, envisioning developing a platform for tokenized US stocks. Via this project, the companies plan to tokenize and trade stocks of 63 US-listed companies, including Nvidia, Apple, and Coca-Cola.

OKB price is showing positive signals

In response to OKX announcing the investment, the exchange’s OKB token has shown notable positive signals, with its price surging to an 11-month high. Following the development, the OKB price experienced a sudden surge from $131 to $140. The token is currently up 9% in the last week.
