Ripple’s RLUSD Stablecoin Debuts on South Korea’s Top 4 Crypto Exchanges

Key highlights:

  • Ripple’s RLUSD is now available on four major crypto exchanges in South Korea
  • Upbit and Bithumb announced their RLUSD listing this week
  • Coinone was the country’s first exchange to list RLUSD, followed by Korbit

Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin is expanding in the South Korean crypto market, officially going live on four major exchanges. With listings on Upbit, Bithumb, Coinone, and Korbit, both retail and institutional users can access RLUSD directly through the Korean won market.

Significantly, this expansion marks a major milestone for Ripple. As the company continues to boost its vision of expanding the reach of its stablecoin, the latest development is expected to improve its adoption and liquidity in the East Asian market.

Upbit and Bithumb complete RLUSD’s South Korean rollout

In the latest development within the Ripple ecosystem, South Korea’s major crypto exchanges, Upbit and Bithumb, have listed the RLUSD stablecoin on their platforms. With these latest listings, RLUSD is now available on the country’s four largest crypto exchanges. Besides Upbit and Bithumb, exchanges like Coinone and Korbit had listed the stablecoin earlier.

Reportedly, RLUSD’s listings on Upbit and Bithumb allow users to trade the stablecoin directly against the Korean won (KRW). As Upbit supports other cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and USDT trading pairs, it gives users more trading options to buy and sell RLUSD.

Ripple Senior Vice President of Stablecoins and Standard Custody CEO Jack McDonald commented on this major development via an X post. He noted:

“RLUSD is now live across Korea’s four largest exchanges. Upbit & Bithumb — Korea’s two largest licensed exchanges — have added direct RLUSD trading, joining Coinone & Korbit. Regulated, fully-reserved access for institutions and retail, direct in KRW. Onwards!”

RLUSD gains momentum in South Korea

Notably, Coinone was the first major South Korean exchange to list Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin. Earlier this year, Coinone listed the RLUSD/KRW trading pair. Soon after this move, another major crypto exchange, Korbit, added support for the stablecoin.

On July 27, 2026, Upbit shared an X post, announcing its decision to list the RLUSD stablecoin. According to the announcement, the token will be available in KRW, BTC, and USDT markets, giving users a wider range of trading options.

Meanwhile, Bithumb announced the listing on July 29, becoming the fourth South Korean exchange to add support for Ripple’s stablecoin. The platform launched a direct KRW trading pair. As the exchange confirmed, the RLUSD trades will be supported through the XRP Ledger (XRPL).

Now, the stablecoin is live in four large crypto exchanges, solidifying its presence in one of Asia’s most active crypto markets. This milestone will help Ripple achieve its goal of expanding the usage of its stablecoin, increasing its adoption for trading, payments, and other blockchain-based financial services.

Why does Ripple remain confident about South Korea?

It is worth noting that South Korea is one of the most solid crypto markets.  Millions of crypto trades happen every day in the country. In addition, the country boasts some of the largest crypto exchanges in the world. This makes it a suitable market for firms looking to grow and expand their operations.

For Ripple, the listing of RLUSD on South Korean exchanges provides access to a large range of retail and institutional investors. It can significantly improve the token’s stability, increase trading activity, and attract more users. “South Korea remains one of the most active regions in the global crypto market,” read a recent official post on Ripple’s XRP.
