Hunter Biden denies making money from LAPTOP memecoin

Hunter Biden pushed back against the criticism surrounding the LAPTOP memecoin. He claims that he hasn’t made any profits from the memecoin, adding, “Nobody on our side sold, and nobody could have. I, personally, have not made a single dollar.”

Notably, the criticism and Biden’s subsequent response come on the heels of the steep price decline that the LAPTOP memecoin faced on the first day. The meme token started at around $37 and soon jumped to a notable high of $222 in minutes. However, these gains did not last long, as the value plummeted to around $1.80 by Wednesday afternoon. This marked a decline of about 95%, bringing six-figure losses for investors.

Following the LAPTOP memecoin price crash, rumors emerged that the project was a scam. The sudden price drop raised concerns about possible insider trading. Questions were raised about whether some early investors or insiders had sold their tokens at the peak.

How did the LAPTOP memecoin crash happen?

According to Hunter Biden, the sharp price decline in the LAPTOP memecoin happened due to limited liquidity and other related problems during the launch. He argued that the token’s initial demand pushed the token higher than the available liquidity could support.

Further, Biden blamed automated “snipers” for the LAPTOP memecoin price crash. Snipers are traders or bots that move quickly to buy tokens as soon as they launch. He added,

“The reality is that available liquidity could not sustain the strong level of interest at launch. Technical issues coupled with predatory “snipers”, who seek to beat liquidity providers to market, caused a spike in price, which has since stabilized to healthy levels. The team’s allocation is locked. Nobody on our side sold, and nobody could have.”

LAPTOP eyes long-term growth

Moreover, Hunter Biden highlighted the LAPTOP memecoin’s long-term vision. He claims the project as the result of his longer-term effort to build the community, despite its overwhelming reception as a failure. While the token continues to face criticism, Biden remains claims he is committed to keep working on it:

“This journey is far from over. We built this community for the long game, and that’s exactly how we’re playing it. I’m going to keep doing what I do best: ignoring the noise, and reclaiming the narrative.”

As reported by CoinCodex yesterday, the LAPTOP memecoin intends to help investors who faced significant losses in Donald Trump’s TRUMP token. A portion of LAPTOP is reserved for these investors.
