CoinCodex Update: New Asset Infrastructure, Gold-to-Silver Ratio, and More

By CoinCodex

We’ve shipped another round of CoinCodex updates, with a big focus on expanding our non-crypto coverage and improving some of the tools already available across the site.

The most important change is mostly happening behind the scenes, but it lays the groundwork for a much broader range of asset classes on our platform.

New infrastructure for non-crypto assets

We’ve switched the CoinCodex frontend to our new API endpoints for non-crypto assets. That means stocks, forex, precious metals, and other markets are now being served through a newer and more scalable infrastructure.

For users, the immediate difference is small in terms of UI and new features. However, an immediate and important part is much better and more accurate stock, forex, and gold/silver market data, which now extends further back.

Still, the bigger benefit is what this allows us to build next. The new setup gives us a much better foundation for adding and maintaining more asset classes across CoinCodex, including commodities, indices, forex, international stocks, and other markets.

This is an important step in our broader effort to make CoinCodex useful beyond crypto while keeping the experience consistent across different markets.

New Gold-to-Silver Ratio page

We’ve also launched a dedicated .

The tool lets you explore how different Bitcoin investment scenarios could affect a long-term retirement plan.

You can adjust assumptions and immediately see how the projection changes, making it much easier to compare different scenarios without doing the calculations manually.

As always, these are projections rather than guarantees, but the calculator provides a simple way to experiment with long-term Bitcoin assumptions.

Improved stock dividend pages

We’ve also made several fixes and improvements to our stock dividend pages, like the MSFT dividend page, for example.

Dividend information is now displayed more reliably, and we’ve cleaned up a number of issues affecting the overall experience.

This is part of the wider work we’re doing to improve stock market coverage across CoinCodex.

Better context on crypto market cap charts

We’ve updated the historical events shown on our crypto market cap charts and added a new toggle that lets you turn these events on or off.

The markers make it easier to connect major changes in the crypto market with important events, while the toggle keeps the chart clean when you just want to focus on price action.

Smaller fixes and improvements

We also shipped a number of smaller improvements across the site, including fixes for forex price changes and currency labels, stock volume data, Pre-IPO stock pages, exchange ROI colors, gold and silver voting elements, cryptocurrency supply information, and embedded widgets.

CoinCodex widgets can also now automatically adapt to the light or dark theme of the page they’re embedded on.

Most of these changes are relatively small on their own, but together they improve data consistency and polish across the site.

Building toward broader market coverage

A lot of the work in this update is about preparing CoinCodex for what comes next.

Crypto remains a major part of CoinCodex, but we’re steadily expanding the same kind of market data, charts, tools, and analysis across stocks, forex, precious metals, commodities, indices, and other asset classes.

The move to the new non-crypto API infrastructure is a major part of that process and should make it much easier for us to expand this coverage going forward.
