The first U.S. exchange-traded fund offering spot exposure to XRP is off to a remarkable start. Canary Capital’s XRPC, which began trading on the today, recorded $26 million in volume within just the first 30 minutes on the market.

The early momentum surpassed the expectations of Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas, who predicted $17 million in trading volume for XRPC on its debut day.

XRPC is the sixth single-asset spot crypto ETF to launch in the U.S., joining peers that provide exposure to Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, Litecoin, and Hedera. The fund’s listing was certified by Nasdaq and became automatically effective during a recent government shutdown, adding to the anticipation surrounding its debut.

XRP itself has been trending higher, rising to $2.43 with a 6% gain over the past week, outperforming many major cryptocurrencies.

This price action likely contributed to the strong opening for XRPC, as investors looked to gain regulated exposure to one of the most widely used digital assets.

Steven McClurg, CEO of Canary Capital, says the launch of the XRPC positions XRP for the next wave of adoption and growth:

“XRP is one of the most established and widely used digital assets in the world, accessibility to XRP through an ETF will enable the next wave of adoption and growth in a critical blockchain system. We believe XRP will play a key role in the evolution of our global financial system.”

With this launch, Canary Capital has positioned itself ahead of other contenders like Bitwise, Franklin Templeton, and 21Shares, all of whom had also filed for spot XRP ETFs.
